How does an owner with a PhD in behavioral ecology, several advanced dog training certifications, and a manager with years of veterinary technician experience impact the level of care at a pet lodging facility? We invite you to find out!
Educated Staff Raise the Level of Pet Care
Training dogs has been a longtime passion for owner Jenni Lott. In fact, she’s been dedicated to the discipline since training her first dog back in 1989. As a graduate student studying behavioral ecology, Jenni quickly mastered effective training strategies for complex tasks like competitive obedience, rally, drafting, and agility work. Through the San Francisco SPCA, Jenni completed advanced training in treating dog aggression. She brought her knowledge and education to the Gorge in 1998 through group dog training classes in Hood River. At her facility just outside of Hood River, she now offers regular dog training and boarding to pets of all shapes and sizes.
Jenni isn’t the only staff member with an impressive background either. She works right alongside operations manager Laura Spinney, MS, who worked for years as a veterinary technician before bringing her specialized expertise to Cascade Pet Camp. Laura oversees the safety, comfort and activities of the dogs and cats throughout the day and designs vet-recommended meals (or custom meals, depending on your dog’s nutritional needs).
